Bruin Film Society

Project Description

Objectives

1. Organize and promote film screenings that enhance the cultural experience at UCLA while fostering community engagement among students and film enthusiasts.

2. Increase event attendance and social media engagement by implementing strategic marketing campaigns and interactive content.

Strategy

Event Planning and Coordination

Developed a detailed event calendar, selecting films that resonate with the student body, including independent, foreign, and classic films to provide diverse viewing options.

Access to Advanced Screenings

Secured access to advanced screenings and premiers throughout Los Angeles, allowing members exclusive opportunities to experience films before public release.

Targeted Marketing Campaigns

Created promotional materials, including posters and social media graphics, and launched targeted campaigns to reach potential attendees, highlighting film details, guest speakers, and post-screening discussions.

Letterboxd Account Management

Managed the Bruin Film Society's Letterboxd account, curating film lists and engaging with members to encourage discussion and feedback on screenings.

Created and managed a detailed content calendar to streamline posts on Instagram, Twitter, our blog, and other platforms. Twitter was used for real-time updates, while blog posts offered in-depth film reviews and event previews.

Results

Through our strategic efforts, we achieved a 40% increase in event attendance, with over 300 attendees at our most popular screenings. Social media presence grew significantly, with a 25% rise in Instagram followers, reaching a total of 3,000 followers, and a 30% increase in post engagement, boosting interaction through likes, comments, and shares.
