Project Description

As the first Hollywood action movie entirely shot in Taiwan, the film, Weekend in Taipei, directed by George Huang (Swimming with Sharks) and Written by Luc Besson (Leon the Professional, Lucy), presented a unique opportunity to celebrate and showcase Asian culture, stories, and talent on a global stage. The Weekend in Taipei Project aimed to elevate the film’s visibility and engagement through a comprehensive social media strategy, event coordination, and strategic brand partnerships.

Objectives:

1. Increase social media presence and engagement for the film on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

2. Assist in organizing a successful Hollywood premiere and associated events to boost media coverage and audience excitement.

3. Secure partnerships with prominent brands to enhance promotional efforts and drive audience engagement.

4. Create memorable influencer experiences to amplify brand visibility through social sharing.

Strategy

Social Media Strategy & Content Creation

Managed and grew social media presence on Instagram and Facebook for Weekend in Taipei through strategic content planning, graphic design, and video production (ask me for videos I have made) , boosting engagement and brand awareness.

Event Coordination & Talent Relations

Coordinated Hollywood premiere logistics, including talent invitations, agent collaboration, and on-site interviews with high-profile guests to enhance media coverage.

Brand Partnerships & Collaborations

Secured and executed collaborations with brands like Din Tai Fung, Boba Guys, Formula Drift, Starlux Airlines, and Taipei Marriott, integrating promotional content into events and social media campaigns.

Influencer Marketing & Trip Coordination

Organized influencer trips to Taiwan with curated itineraries, secured sponsorships from Marriott and Starlux, and provided full logistical oversight while contributing to the creative process for content ideas to maximize brand visibility.

Event & Campaign Planning

Supported planning and execution of high-impact events, including red carpets, press junkets, and branded collaborations (e.g., Boba Guys merchandise, Formula Drift car meet) to drive brand alignment and audience engagement.

The Weekend in Taipei Project achieved remarkable results within just a couple months, launching the social media account from scratch to several hundred followers with strong engagement. Collaborations with brands like Din Tai Fung, Boba Guys, and Starlux Airlines generated over 500,000 impressions, increasing brand mentions by 60%. Coverage from 30+ media outlets at the Hollywood premiere boosted film awareness by 40%, collectively driving a 50% increase in ticket pre-sales and enhancing AAPI community engagement by 25%.
